Wanted: baclofen prescribers across the world – can you help?

I’m getting plenty of emails from the website from people round the world asking if there are any experienced or at least willing prescribers in their country.

I’m keen to gather information from site visitors so more people can find a prescriber.
This type of information is well developed in France via one of the patient organisations so that anyone can find a baclofen prescriber nearby if their own GP is not willing.

Brief Berlin Baclofen Summary- hot off the press!

Berlin, September 3rd 2016. Three large new baclofen RCTs were presented yesterday afternoon at a session of the World Congress for Alcohol and Alcoholism. Also presented was the data from the already published BACLAD study.
I was there in the stuffy, packed lecture room in Berlin’s University of Technology where the conference was held.

Listen to Patient Stories now!

There’s nothing like hearing it from the “horses mouth“. Hear my patients talking with me about life before and after baclofen treatment (link). I’ll be adding more and more stories over time. If you have a baclofen story, send me an MP3 and I’ll put it up on the site.

A Baclofen prescribing GP in Perth – our first!

Dr Peter Connor at Cambridge Clinic has put his hand up to be the first baclofen prescribing GP named on our website. He’s a GP with a particular interest in Addiction Medicine and happy to see patients seeking baclofen treatment for alcohol problems. Contact the Cambridge Clinic, 1/6 Abbotsford Street, West Leederville, telephone 9388 2005 for an appointment.

Open for Business

Berlin. 3rd September 2016. 4.30pm. The results of three big European baclofen studies will be announced in one session of the World Congress for Alcohol and Alcoholism (isbra-esbra-2016.org/welcome-3/).

Baclofen treating doctors have been waiting a couple of years for this. These studies should put an end to the criticism that there is not enough evidence from large clinical trials to support the use of baclofen for alcohol use disorders.
